Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) expressed outrage over President Donald Trump’s decision to pardon and commute the sentences of approximately 1,500 individuals linked to the January 6 Capitol riots.
The announcement, made during Trump’s first day back in office, has sparked heated debate among lawmakers and the public.
Pelosi took to social media to criticize Trump’s actions, accusing him of undermining the justice system and dishonoring law enforcement officers who defended the Capitol on January 6.

“Tonight, the President announced pardons and commutations of sentences for those who violently attacked the Capitol and law enforcement officers on January 6th,” Pelosi wrote.
“The President’s actions are an outrageous insult to our justice system and the heroes who suffered physical scars and emotional trauma as they protected the Capitol, the Congress, and the Constitution.”
Pelosi continued, calling Trump’s decision a betrayal of police officers.
“It is shameful that the President has decided to make one of his top priorities the abandonment and betrayal of police officers who put their lives on the line to stop an attempt to subvert the peaceful transfer of power,” she added.
“Despite the President’s decision, we must always remember the extraordinary courage and valor of the law enforcement heroes who stood in the breach and ensured that democracy survived on that dark day.”

Trump’s decision to pardon those involved in the January 6 riots was widely anticipated, as it aligned with promises he made during his 2024 presidential campaign.

Supporters have argued that the Justice Department’s handling of these cases represented prosecutorial overreach, while critics, including Pelosi, have labeled the move as politically motivated.
The pardons include a range of individuals convicted of crimes related to the Capitol breach, from misdemeanor trespassing to more serious charges.
Trump has framed the pardons as an effort to correct what he views as excessive punishments and politically driven prosecutions by federal authorities.
Pelosi’s remarks come in the wake of controversy surrounding presidential pardon practices.
Critics of her comments have pointed to the pardons issued by former President Joe Biden, including clemency for members of his own family allegedly involved in influence-peddling schemes.
These actions have drawn accusations of hypocrisy from Trump allies.
“Joe Biden pardoned his entire corrupt family, or at least the members who were involved in the lucrative and widespread influence-peddling operation,” one commentator noted.
“That was an insult to the rule of law, Ms. Pelosi, and an insult to the intelligence of the American people.”
The pardons have reignited discussions about the January 6 riots and the role of law enforcement, justice, and accountability in handling the aftermath.
Supporters of Trump’s actions argue that the individuals involved were overcharged and subjected to politically motivated prosecutions, while opponents contend that the pardons undermine accountability for the events of that day.

The media and liberals are once again diverting attention away from Biden pardoning all his cronies for their failed takeover.
she says they violated capitol law – the majority were ushered in and guided by police. They’ve been held in prison for years because they happened to be in the wrong place, where is that justice. The ones that caused trouble didn’t kill anyone, and they were enticed by undercover agents within the government. They are so crooked that it’s not like America anymore.
Amen!
socialist America has been spelled Amerika, since the republic was destroyed in 1865, by dis-Honest Abe Lincoln

GOOGLE the truth about pelosi: “Pelosi’s mafia ties explain Democrat opposition to border wall”
How about a nationwide class action suit against Pelousy! She’s the one that refused to call out the National Guard that Trymp had put on alert that day, she knew about the FBI & CIA plants within the “mob”, she saw (like the rest of us) video footage of the Capital Police/Guards opening gates and welcoming the rally members into the Capital building, she set in motion the largest FBI investigation in history, she oversaw appointments of only “good” Democrats and RHINOs to the J6 committee, she…. Enough said, but she should be penalized for her criminal insider trading, her criminal control of the House while Speaker, her continual lies and slander. Remove her from Congress, seize all assets and make her face real consequences for her truly corrupt and criminal behavior!
add Chucky U Schumer to the list. Threatening the SCOTUS judges
Unless they repent of their actions they will be faceing ‘real consequences’ in due time.

Actually the ‘outrageous insult to our justice system’ is not the pardons. The insult is the total destruction of all the ‘evidence’ that send those patriots to 4 years of hell.
