Actor Robert Davi, known for his roles in several iconic 1980s films, appeared on Fox Business Wednesday to express his frustration with the state of California under Democratic leadership.
In an interview on The Evening Edit, Davi, who left the state after nearly 50 years, outlined his concerns over the state’s handling of environmental issues, particularly in regard to wildfires, water use policies, and the overall governance of California.
Davi began by addressing what he views as the failure of California’s leadership in managing wildfire prevention.

He pointed to the lack of proper maintenance of brush and reservoirs, critical measures that he believes have been neglected for years.
Davi cited a specific example from 1990, when former Republican Governor Pete Wilson introduced a bill that aimed to build reservoirs to capture rainwater.
However, according to Davi, the bill failed to pass due to opposition from Democrats.
“I think President Trump should do a national referendum on that. He should meet with maybe [Arnold] Schwarzenegger, who understood the environmental issues, and not pretend he understood them like Newsom does for photo ops,” Davi told Fox Business host Elizabeth MacDonald.

In addition to wildfire prevention, Davi criticized what he called restrictive water use policies across the state, including the infamous 38-gallon water limit.
This policy, which even affected affluent areas like Beverly Hills, restricted water use for residents and businesses in an attempt to conserve water.
Davi expressed his frustration with the impact such policies had on everyday life, saying, “You couldn’t water your lawns. You couldn’t do certain kinds of irrigation because they were conserving.”
Davi continued to place the blame on California’s Democratic leadership, which he claims has failed to address pressing issues related to crime, the environment, and the overall state of California.
He described the state as having been “beautiful” in the past but now suffering due to poor policy decisions.
“There’s frustration in the left. They don’t solve problems. They create problems. When I was in California, as I said, 46 years, we left three years ago,” Davi said.
The actor also took aim at Hollywood, criticizing the lack of action from high-profile figures in the entertainment industry regarding the state’s ongoing issues.
Davi noted that while Hollywood is vocal on many political topics, it remains silent on the failures of California Governor Gavin Newsom.
“I still haven’t heard a soundbite from Jimmy Kimmel or Stephen Colbert or any of the Hollywood elites talking about how Gavin Newsom has to be held accountable for what happened in California,” Davi stated.
As wildfires ravaged Los Angeles County, Davi highlighted the efforts of residents in Altadena who defied evacuation orders to protect their neighborhood.
Amid the fires that spread from Eaton Canyon to Pasadena and Altadena, a group of homeowners and volunteers braved high winds to defend their homes.
Davi pointed out that experts had been warning for years that Southern California was a potential tinderbox, yet Governor Newsom failed to effectively implement a crucial wildfire strategy introduced in 2019.
Additionally, critical wildfire prevention measures were overlooked, and a major reservoir was left empty, exacerbating the crisis.
Davi’s comments come amid continued scrutiny of California’s management of its environment and infrastructure.
With his decades-long connection to the state, Davi’s departure reflects the frustration felt by many long-term residents who feel that the state’s leadership has failed to address its mounting challenges.
Robert Davi is well-known for his roles in films such as The Goonies, License To Kill, and Die Hard.
Despite his success in Hollywood, Davi has consistently voiced his concerns about the political landscape in California and the country at large.

We left also left after 53 year’s. It is a disaster there just normally with all the enviro laws and lack of public sanitation.
What is really SAD is that it took this stuff to wake them up! It has been going on for decades, Dems are just so desperate now they aren’t or can’t be as careful. But at least the willful blinders are off
