The United States Central Command (CENTCOM) announced on Sunday that it conducted a series of airstrikes targeting ISIS leaders, operatives, and camps in central Syria.

The mission was part of ongoing efforts to prevent the terrorist organization from exploiting the power vacuum left by the recent collapse of Bashar al-Assadโ€™s regime.

CENTCOM reported that the strikes focused on disrupting ISISโ€™s operations to ensure the group does not reconstitute in Syria during this period of instability.

Using assets such as B-52 bombers, F-15 fighters, and A-10 aircraft, U.S. forces struck more than 75 targets linked to ISIS.

The damage assessments from the operation are ongoing, but initial reports indicate that no civilians were harmed during the airstrikes, according to CENTCOM.

CENTCOM emphasized that these strikes are part of a broader mission to “disrupt, degrade, and defeat ISIS.”

The operation involved coordination with regional allies and partners to hinder ISISโ€™s ability to conduct operations and exploit the evolving situation in Syria.

“There should be no doubtโ€”we will not allow ISIS to reconstitute and take advantage of the current situation in Syria,” General Michael Erik Kurilla, CENTCOM Commander, stated.

Kurilla issued a warning to all groups operating in Syria, stating, “All organizations in Syria should know that we will hold them accountable if they partner with or support ISIS in any way.”

With Assadโ€™s regime toppled and a coalition of Islamist factions seizing control of major cities, the situation in Syria remains fluid.

U.S. military operations aim to prevent ISIS from leveraging the chaos to regain its foothold in the region.

CENTCOM indicated that it will continue to monitor and act against any threats posed by ISIS in collaboration with international allies.

The strikes are part of a long-term strategy to ensure the terrorist organization does not exploit the instability following Assadโ€™s departure.

As the region faces new challenges, U.S. forces remain committed to combating ISIS and maintaining stability in Syria.

Further updates on the success of the operation and its impact on ISISโ€™s capabilities are expected as damage assessments are completed.
