Trump joined the RNC leadership in March 2024 and played a pivotal role in Republican victories, including retaking control of the Senate and maintaining the party’s majority in the House.

“With that big win, I kind of feel like my time is up,” Trump wrote. “What I intended to do has been done.”

Serving as the @GOP [3] co-chair throughout the course of the most consequential election in American history has truly been the honor of my life.

2) build the largest army of lawyers and poll watchers… pic.twitter.com/bcHdDHhwQq [4]

Her departure has sparked widespread speculation that she may pursue a Senate seat in Florida, where Sen. Marco Rubio is expected to step down to assume the role of Secretary of State under President-elect Donald Trump’s administration.

Lara Trump’s tenure as RNC co-chair saw her at the forefront of Republican efforts to regain control of Congress.

Her leadership was instrumental in mobilizing voters and supporting key candidates across the country.

Lara Trump deserves enormous credit for Donald Trump’s victory. She was relentless, staying ahead at every turn to make sure the Democrats didn’t stand a chance of stealing it.

Although she has not officially announced any plans to run for office, Trump has hinted at her willingness to serve the people of Florida.

Last month, during an appearance on Fox News’ Hannity, she expressed interest in the Senate seat should it become available.

“I would love to serve the people of Florida,” she told host Sean Hannity. “If that’s something that’s put in front of me, it would be a true honor.”

Support for Lara Trump’s potential Senate bid has been growing. Maye Musk, mother of Tesla CEO Elon Musk, publicly advocated for her on X, calling her a needed voice in the U.S. Senate.

“The Senate is an old man’s club. We desperately need a smart, young, outspoken woman who will reveal their secrets,” Musk posted. Lara Trump, 42, represents a younger generation of Republican leadership.

The decision to appoint Rubio’s replacement ultimately rests with Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis.

If appointed, Lara Trump would join the Senate during a transformative period for the GOP, as the party continues to implement the president-elect’s agenda.

While Lara Trump steps down from her RNC role, Michael Whatley will remain chairman of the organization.

The RNC’s leadership team will continue its efforts to strengthen the Republican Party ahead of the next election cycle.

As speculation grows about Lara Trump’s next political move, her contributions to the RNC and the GOP’s recent successes remain significant.

Whether she enters the Senate or pursues another role, her impact on Republican politics is expected to continue shaping the party’s future.
