Donald Trump spent Thanksgiving at Mar-a-Lago surrounded by family, friends, and a rather unusual addition to his inner circle: Elon Musk. The President-elect, alongside his family and celebrity guests, celebrated the holiday with laughter, music, and even a performance of Trump’s signature campaign anthem, “YMCA.”
Barron Trump, the youngest member of the Trump family, seemed amused as his father and Musk attempted to replicate Trump’s now-iconic dance moves, as reported by The Daily Mail.
The event was attended by First Lady Melania Trump, daughter Tiffany, son Eric, and Eric’s wife, Lara, who also serves as an RNC co-chair.

Online, reactions to Musk’s newfound closeness with Trump ranged from humorous to snarky.
One commenter joked, “Elon has residency now at Mar-a-Lago,” while another quipped, “Elon has made himself right at home. Looks like he even took Don Jr’s seat at the table!”

Barron’s reaction to the dance also caught attention, with a social media user noting, “Barron’s like, ‘Okay, have we had enough of this song yet, father?'”
Elon Musk’s involvement with Trump has grown significantly since the billionaire became a critical ally during Trump’s successful 2024 campaign against Kamala Harris. Musk not only raised funds but also helped organize key aspects of the campaign.

Musk, seated prominently at the event, has been a near-constant presence in Trump’s orbit since the election.
Trump’s granddaughter, Kai, has even affectionately nicknamed Musk “Uncle Elon,” reflecting how close the Tesla CEO has become to the Trump family.
Musk has joined Trump in meetings with world leaders, participated in transition team discussions, and even helped make staffing decisions for the incoming administration.
In a move that has both supporters and critics talking, Trump announced Musk will co-lead a new Department of Government Efficiency with former GOP primary candidate Vivek Ramaswamy.
Describing the initiative as potentially “The Manhattan Project of our time,” Trump explained it aims to dismantle the “mountain of choking regulations” and reduce government bureaucracy.
Musk expressed his enthusiasm on X, stating, “We finally have a mandate to delete the mountain of choking regulations that do not serve the greater good.”
The world is suffering slow strangulation by overregulation. Every year, the noose tightens a little more.

The holiday festivities were not limited to Mar-a-Lago.

Trump and Musk recently attended a UFC event in New York and even witnessed the SpaceX Starship launch in Texas. Musk also joined Trump onstage with opera singer Chris Macchio for a performance of “God Bless America,” which some described as bizarre but memorable.
With Musk’s growing role in the Trump administration, it’s clear that this unlikely partnership will be one to watch as the President-elect takes office.
