Pop icon Madonna turned to social media to express her frustration following President-elect Donald Trump’s victory over Kamala Harris in the 2024 election, posting a photo of a cake with an explicit anti-Trump message.

The cake, which read “F*** TRUMP” in bold icing, was shared on Madonna’s Instagram Story, where she told followers, “Stuffed my face with this cake last night!” The 66-year-old pop star had been vocal in her support for Harris, even cutting short a trip to Paris to return to the U.S. and vote.

In her Instagram post, Madonna further expressed her disappointment over the election outcome. She wrote, “Trying to get my head around why a convicted felon, rapist, bigot was chosen to lead our country because he’s good for the economy?”

Madonna’s support for Harris was evident before the election. Just days prior, she shared photos from Paris with a caption encouraging her fans to vote for Harris, whom she called an “intelligent, compassionate, well-spoken leader who stands for justice and equal rights.”

Madonna had also endorsed Harris in 2020 when she ran as Biden’s vice-presidential pick.

The reaction from the entertainment world to Trump’s victory included similar messages from other prominent figures.

Christina Applegate, actress and long-time advocate for disability rights, tweeted, “Please unfollow me if you voted against female rights… disability rights. Don’t want followers like this. So yeah. Done.”

Meanwhile, several celebrities publicly endorsed Trump during the election cycle.

Podcaster Joe Rogan, former Olympian Caitlyn Jenner, and YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul all voiced their support for the president-elect.

Kamala Harris conceded to Trump on Wednesday and confirmed that she had called him to offer congratulations and ensure a “peaceful transfer of power.”

Harris’s concession marks the end of a heated election season in which numerous celebrities rallied behind her campaign.

The election result continues to divide Hollywood, with high-profile reactions highlighting the differences in political perspectives within the entertainment industry.
