In a candid interview, Graham highlighted Ukraine’s role as a valuable economic partner for the United States, emphasizing that its reserves of rare earth minerals and its critical position as a major food supplier to Africa could benefit the U.S. economy.

Graham argued that, contrary to what some might believe, Russia is not the best economic partner for the U.S. in the region, and that securing a strong relationship with Ukraine is in America's best interest.

“Ukraine is still standing. This war is about money. People don't talk much about it. But you know, the richest country in all of Europe for rare earth minerals is Ukraine. Two to $7 trillion worth of minerals that are rare earth minerals, very relevant to the 21st century,” Graham explained. “Ukraine is ready to do a deal with us, not the Russians.”

The senator pointed out that Ukraine’s agricultural significance is also a key factor in its importance.

As one of the world’s largest suppliers of food, Ukraine plays a crucial role in feeding the developing world, particularly in Africa.

Graham noted that roughly 50% of the food going to Africa comes from Ukraine, further highlighting the nation's strategic value to global stability.

“It’s the bread basket of really, the developing world. 50% all the food going to Africa comes out of Ukraine,” Graham said. “We can make money and have an economic relationship with Ukraine to be very beneficial to us with peace.”

Graham criticized the Biden administration's handling of the Ukraine conflict, asserting that the current administration has failed to adequately contain adversaries.

He argued that former President Donald Trump would be able to negotiate a more favorable deal for the United States, one that would not only protect American interests but also bring peace to the region.

“Donald Trump is going to do a deal to get our money back, to enrich ourselves with rare earth minerals, a good deal for Ukraine and us, and he's going to bring peace,” Graham said. “Biden has been a disaster when it comes to containing bad guys.”

The senator’s comments reflect growing concerns about the Biden-Harris administration's approach to Ukraine and its broader foreign policy.

While Graham remains a strong advocate for U.S. support of Ukraine, his focus on Ukraine’s economic potential and the possibility of a mutually beneficial deal with the country offers a different perspective on the ongoing conflict.

Graham believes that peace, economic growth, and geopolitical stability can be achieved through smart diplomacy, a stance he argues was exemplified during Trump’s presidency.
