Former President Donald Trump returned to Butler, Pennsylvania, on Saturday, marking his first visit since an assassination attempt during a rally on July 13.
Trump took the stage to thunderous applause, his entrance set to Lee Greenwood’s “God Bless the USA,” and was met by an estimated crowd of 50,000 supporters.

The visit, both a show of resilience and remembrance, took place exactly 12 weeks after the deadly incident that claimed the life of firefighter Corey Comperatore.
“As I was saying,” Trump began, referencing his interrupted speech during the July rally.
The crowd erupted in cheers as the former president continued to recount the harrowing events of that day.

Thomas Matthew Crooks, from a nearby rooftop, had opened fire, killing Comperatore and injuring two others before being neutralized by a Secret Service counter-sniper.

“Exactly 12 weeks ago this evening, on this very ground, a cold-blooded assassin aimed to silence me and the greatest movement in the history of our country,” Trump said. “But by the hand of providence and the grace of God, that villain did not succeed.”
Trump honored the firefighter's sacrifice, acknowledging how Comperatore shielded his daughter from the gunfire, a selfless act that ultimately cost him his life.
Trump praised local law enforcement and emergency personnel who responded swiftly during the attack. “I also want to express our thanks to the Butler Township Police Department, the Butler Sheriff’s deputies, Pennsylvania State Police, and all of the other law enforcement heroes, as well as the emergency personnel and doctors,” he said.

Trump specifically thanked Butler Memorial Hospital and Allegheny General Hospital for their efforts in treating the wounded.
Security at the rally was notably heightened, with the Secret Service taking extensive precautions after the failures during the July event.
This included better communication systems, full rooftop surveillance, and increased perimeter security.
Conservative commentator Jack Posobiec, guest-hosting on Bannon’s War Room during the event, remarked on the improvements, noting the visible presence of counter-snipers and tightened safety measures.
In a touching tribute, the Trump campaign paid homage to Corey Comperatore.
His firefighting gear was displayed in the bleachers where he was sitting at the time of the attack.
Trump also met privately with Comperatore’s family—his widow Helen and daughters Allyson and Kaylee—upon arriving in Pennsylvania.
The family’s presence served as a poignant reminder of the personal sacrifices made during the attack.
The former president’s return to Butler, Pennsylvania, was both a show of strength and a commemoration of those who were affected by the events of July 13.
It also served as a reminder of his commitment to his supporters and the ongoing resilience of the Make America Great Again movement.
