A suspected terror attack unfolded on Tuesday evening in Jaffa, located in southern Tel Aviv, Israel, resulting in multiple casualties.

The shooting occurred near a light rail station on Jerusalem Street, and according to various reports, at least four individuals sustained serious injuries.

Israeli police confirmed that gunmen opened fire in the area, leading to a rapid response from local security forces.

The incident was reported around 7:01 p.m. local time, as emergency services, including Israel’s Magen David Adom (MDA) ambulance service, rushed to the scene.

MDA confirmed that they received reports of gunfire and immediately provided medical treatment to several wounded individuals with varying degrees of injuries. Some victims were found unconscious at the scene, according to MDA.

Initial reports from Israeli media indicate that at least nine Israelis were wounded in the attack, with four in critical condition.

The attackers, reportedly two gunmen, exited a light rail train before opening fire on pedestrians and commuters in the area.

Security forces quickly responded to the situation and neutralized the two terrorists by shooting them on the scene.

However, Israeli police believe that at least one more suspect may still be at large and are conducting a thorough search of the area.

The attack caused panic in the densely populated area, and videos from the scene showed several victims lying on the ground as first responders provided medical assistance.
