Suspect Opens Fire On Police, Fatally Finds Out That Was A Bad Idea [WATCH]

Police in Edmond, Oklahoma, have released [1] bodycam footage from a deadly officer-involved shooting that occurred on August 23.

The footage reveals that an exchange of gunfire between officers and the suspect, 25-year-old Billy Ray Factor, began after Factor was spotted on an apartment balcony.

The incident took place around 10:50 p.m. at an apartment complex located on the 1900 block of Three Stars Road near E Second Street and Bryant Avenue.

Edmond police officers Garrett Hill, who has been with the department for two years, and Ismael Fiorina, who has served for one year, responded to the scene.

Both officers have been placed on administrative leave pending the investigation.

According to the bodycam footage, officers were investigating a report of an intruder at a neighboring apartment when the confrontation with Factor unfolded.

A resident told police she had seen a man on her balcony through her Blink camera, which had “unnerved” her.

Officers approached Factor, who was crouching on the second-floor balcony, and questioned him about how he got there.

The video shows that as officers questioned Factor, he stood up, walked toward the balcony railing, and raised his arm.

At that moment, one officer can be heard saying, “Hey, hey, put that down,” followed by two gunshots and then several more from the officers. Factor fell to the balcony floor after the shots were fired.

In an affidavit for a search warrant, police reported that Factor was dressed in all black.

The confrontation took place outside the bedroom of a 26-year-old woman, who was awake during the incident.

After hearing the gunshots, she ran to wake up her mother, and the two hid in a bathroom until officers cleared the scene and confirmed it was safe.

The woman informed detectives that she had recently ended her relationship with Factor, explaining that he wanted a more serious commitment than she did.

She said they had broken up the day before the shooting and that Factor had expressed an unhealthy fixation on her. She also mentioned that Factor owned firearms, which he kept in a safe at his residence.

Factor’s roommates told detectives that he had left their residence on Redstone Avenue between 9:30 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. that night, after consuming alcohol.

They said Factor had taken his backpack with him when he went for a walk following the breakup.

They attempted to contact Factor but were unsuccessful, and his mother had not spoken to him either.

At the scene, detectives discovered a black backpack near a tree.

The contents of the backpack included blue pants, a light gray shirt, binoculars marked with “Factor,” a loaded firearm magazine, a phone, and a condom, according to the affidavit.
