Passengers onboard an American Airlines flight from Miami to Charlotte on Wednesday were seen intervening to restrain a man who allegedly became violent with his female travel companion.

The incident took place in the first-class section of the plane and was captured on video, which has since circulated on social media.

In the footage, multiple passengers are seen confronting the man, telling him to stop his aggressive behavior toward the woman seated next to him.

One male passenger can be heard sternly warning the man, saying, “Do not fing touch her.” The man in question appeared to offer an inaudible excuse, to which the passenger responded, “I don’t give a f… You don’t f***ing touch her.”

Another man joined in, cautioning the aggressive passenger that he could face arrest if he continued to touch the woman. “Get your fing hands off of her right now,” he said. “You touch her again, you’re gonna get fing arrested, a**hole.”

As the tense situation unfolded, one of the intervening passengers asked the woman if she was okay and suggested she move to an empty seat away from the man.

She eventually crossed the aisle, distancing herself from her travel companion.

During the exchange, the man insisted that he was the one who had been assaulted, claiming the woman slapped him.

The woman, however, denied his accusation, stating, “No you weren’t assaulted. I put my hand over your mouth to make you shut up.” The man continued to insist that he had been slapped, raising his voice as the argument escalated.

Once the flight landed at Charlotte Douglas International Airport, 26 minutes ahead of schedule, police were called to the scene.

According to Epoch Times reporter Arjun Singh, passengers were required to remain on the plane as Charlotte-Mecklenburg police officers entered the cabin to address the situation.

A second video shows an officer speaking with the female flight attendant who initially tried to mediate the altercation.

She pointed out where the man and woman had been seated, and the officer proceeded to ask the passengers involved in restraining the man what had occurred.

Eventually, the officer escorted both the man and the woman off the plane.

American Airlines confirmed the incident in a statement, explaining that the two passengers had been involved in an altercation and were removed from the flight. “Two customers traveling together were engaged in an altercation aboard American Airlines flight 310 with service from Miami to Charlotte on Oct. 2,” a spokesperson said. “Local law enforcement responded and escorted the customers from the CLT airport.”

The airline emphasized that it does not tolerate violence and praised its staff for handling the situation professionally. “We thank our team members for their professionalism in managing a difficult situation,” the spokesperson added.

It remains unclear if the man was arrested or faced any charges in connection with the incident.
