At a packed Madison Square Garden rally alongside former President Donald Trump, Senator JD Vance delivered sharp criticism of Kamala Harris’s recent comments on her role and performance in office, particularly taking issue with her response on CNN when asked to name any mistakes she might have made as vice president.

During the CNN town hall, Harris responded to a question about her mistakes by explaining that she focuses on being well-prepared.

She stated, “In my role as Vice President, I mean, I’ve probably worked very hard at making sure that I am well-versed on issues, and I think that is very important. It’s a mistake not to be well versed on an issue and feel compelled to answer a question.”

In his remarks at the rally, Vance quoted Harris directly, saying, “Now, the other day, CNN asked if she had made any mistakes as vice president. Now here’s what she actually said, and I am quoting word for word: ‘In my role as Vice President, I mean, I’ve probably worked very hard at making sure that I am well versed on issues, and I think that is very important.’”

Vance then shared his reaction to her statement, questioning her clarity and intent and suggesting the American people have a more straightforward view of her missteps.

“It’s a mistake not to be well versed on an issue and feel compelled to answer a question,” he reiterated, quoting Harris. “Now I have no idea what any of that means, and frankly, neither do any of you. None of us know what the hell she says.”

Vance underscored his point by asserting that while Harris may struggle to recognize her own mistakes, everyday Americans have little trouble identifying them. “She may not be able to name any of her mistakes,” he remarked, “but the American people sure can.”

The Madison Square Garden rally saw a substantial turnout as Trump and his allies, including Vance, aimed to solidify support in the final days leading up to the election.

With Harris’s response as a focal point, Vance’s comments highlighted what he described as Kamala Harris’s lack of self-awareness and inability to directly address her performance record.
