With just weeks left before Election Day, Vice President Kamala Harris is making a last-ditch effort to shore up support, particularly among Black voters, with a specific focus on men.
As reported by Townhall, her campaign has rolled out a series of proposals aimed at addressing key issues in the Black community.

A presidential candidate who doesn't understand that race-based lending is illegal.
Under the Equal Credit Opportunity Act (ECOA) and the Fair Housing Act (FHA), lenders are prohibited from discriminating against applicants on the basis of race, color, religion,… https://t.co/cLHxAMrQ7h
Harris’s plan, which includes a mix of economic and social reforms, is being touted as a pathway to boost economic opportunities and tackle health disparities. However, her proposals are already facing constitutional challenges.
Here's What They're Not Telling You About Your Retirement
Harris’s agenda includes:
- Providing 1 million forgivable loans to Black entrepreneurs and others to help start businesses.
- Promoting education and training programs to assist Black men in securing high-paying jobs, especially in industries with teacher shortages.
- Supporting a regulatory framework for cryptocurrency to ensure Black men who invest are protected.
- Launching a National Health Equity Initiative aimed at addressing specific health concerns like sickle cell disease, mental health issues, diabetes, and prostate cancer, all of which disproportionately affect Black men.
- Legalizing recreational marijuana and creating opportunities for Black Americans to succeed in the industry.
While these proposals are meant to address some long-standing concerns within the Black community, they have sparked immediate debate.
The U.S. Constitution prohibits policies that discriminate based on race, which raises questions about Harris's initiative.

Although Harris’s rhetoric appears to target Black men and women, her campaign quickly walked back the specifics, stating that the programs would be available to all Americans on a race-neutral basis. In other words, the phrase “and others” does the heavy lifting in broadening the eligibility.
The Kamala campaign is now being forced to walk back and clarify her own policy. They claim her “Agenda for Black Men” will actually be for everyone on a “race-neutral basis.”

Even as Harris rolls out these ambitious proposals aimed at addressing key issues within the Black community, her support numbers remain stubbornly low, far from what is needed to secure a decisive win against former President Donald Trump.
No matter how you splice the data, Trump seems to be the strongest Republican with Black voters since 1960. Young Black men in particular have trended right during Trump's runs (cutting the Dem margin by 40 pts from 2012).

Polls continue to show her struggling to galvanize the voter enthusiasm required to mount a serious challenge in November. The clock is ticking relentlessly, and with Election Day looming ever closer, the campaign is in full scramble mode, trying to close the widening gap. Time is running out, and Harris’s team is now relying on these last-minute promises to energize a critical voter base that could make or break her chances. Whether these proposals will resonate enough to sway voters in her favor remains an open question.
