Catherine Zeta-Jones, the 55-year-old Welsh actress, decided to spice things up for her husband Michael Douglas’ 80th birthday with a bold gesture.

After 25 years of celebrating their shared birthday, she playfully admitted that she’s running out of unique gift ideas. So, what did she come up with? A steamy birthday surprise in her “birthday suit,” as reported by the Daily Mail [1].

Zeta-Jones posted the daring photo on her Instagram, showing herself posing completely naked, except for a pair of heels, in a luxurious bathroom. Her caption read, “In my birthday suit! After over 25 years of sharing my birthday with my husband, I am running out of gift ideas!”

However, she quickly revealed that the Hollywood legend would actually prefer something more traditional. “This is gift option two, golf balls being option one… of course,” she quipped, leaving fans both amused and intrigued.

While Douglas might have preferred a new set of golf balls, the photo quickly gained attention on social media. The post drew hundreds of comments, including a like from fellow actress Elizabeth Hurley, showing that Catherine’s bold move was well-received.

On their shared birthday, both Catherine and Michael took to Instagram to celebrate each other in heartfelt posts. Zeta-Jones shared a throwback photo from 25 years ago, featuring the couple at the beginning of their relationship.

The image showed a young Michael wrapping his arms around Catherine and planting a kiss on her cheek. Her loving caption read, “Happy Birthday to Michael and to me! This was us on our birthday 25 years ago! I love you with all my heart.” She also mentioned that their friend and photographer, Jean Pigozzi, captured the moment during a night out in New York City.

Douglas returned the sentiment with a stunning photo of Zeta-Jones, writing, “To my birthday sister, I love you with all my heart! May your new year be the best!” Catherine playfully responded in the comments, “Thank you, sweetheart!!!!”

Earlier this year, Michael reflected on how he first knew Catherine was “the one.” In an interview on Lorraine, he shared that their mutual love of golf played a key role in their connection. ‘You know, Catherine loves golf. That was actually kind of the closest we first got together,” he explained, adding that he thought it was almost too good to be true when she mentioned her interest in the sport.

As for his career, Douglas is stepping into a new role as Benjamin Franklin in an upcoming AppleTV+ miniseries. He reflected on this new chapter, saying it’s been a period of new experiences, from comedy to working with green screen technology—something he hadn’t done before.

The power couple, who first met in 1998 at the Deauville Film Festival, have been married since 2000. They share two children, Dylan and Carys, while Michael has another son, Cameron, from a previous marriage.
