At a rally in Atlanta on Saturday, former President Donald Trump introduced Michaelah Montgomery, a Georgia activist, who captivated the audience with her speech.

The event was held at the Georgia State University Convocation Center.

Trump brought Montgomery on stage towards the end of his speech, recounting their encounter earlier this year. “She looks at me, says ‘It’s President Trump. You saved my college.’ And I said, ‘How the hell do you know that?’ … This one is so smart, so sharp,” Trump said.

He continued, “She grabbed me. She gave me a kiss. I said, ‘I think I’m never going back home to the first lady.'”

Montgomery responded with laughter, “You were supposed to keep that quiet.”

Trump praised Montgomery, calling her “incredible” with a “tremendous future” and promised to support her in any way he could before handing over the podium.

Montgomery, a student at Clark Atlanta University and founder of Conserve the Culture, addressed the crowd with a call to action. “I do want to add on to some of the remarks that were made by others,” she began. “And we do need to do our best to get the message out there. The fight is nothing if all we do is talk about it amongst ourselves.”

She explained her organization’s mission to mobilize HBCU students around conservative values. “Nobody needs this message more than my folks, so do y’all care for real?” Montgomery asked, as the crowd cheered. “Are y’all with us for real? I’ma give it back to Big T.”

The rally occurred shortly after Trump faced criticism from the White House for his comments about Vice President Kamala Harris’ racial identity at the National Association of Black Journalists convention.
