Actor Angel Salazar, famed for his role as Chi Chi in the 1983 film “Scarface,” has died at age 68. Salazar passed away peacefully in his sleep at a friend’s home in Brooklyn over the weekend, his representative Ann Wingsong confirmed to TMZ.
A friend discovered Salazar’s body on Sunday morning. While the official cause of death has not been disclosed, Wingsong noted that Salazar had struggled with heart issues.

Born in 1956, Salazar gained prominence with his role as Chi Chi, the sidekick to Al Pacino’s Tony Montana in “Scarface.” The film, which also starred Michelle Pfeiffer and Steven Bauer, quickly became a cult classic and earned Pacino a Golden Globe nomination for Best Actor.
In addition to his iconic role in “Scarface,” Salazar appeared in several other films, including “Where the Buffalo Roam” (1980), “A Stranger is Watching” (1982), and “The Wild Life” (1984). He also featured in “Sylvester” (1985) and “Punchline” (1988) before appearing in another Pacino film, “Carlito’s Way” (1993).
