One resident, Richard Osayna, recalled the terrifying incident, stating, “He was trying to hit somebody, and it was either going to be me or the kid or whoever’s standing in that road.”

The SUV collided into two men, including the ex-employee’s former boss, in Osayna’s driveway.

According to Osayna, the SUV then turned towards him, prompting him to jump over a wall to avoid being hit. He also claimed that the enraged driver made a throat-slashing gesture towards him.

Osayna expressed gratitude to a neighbor who bravely intervened with a shotgun, preventing further harm. He referred to the neighbor as a hero, acknowledging that their swift action potentially saved lives.

Annette Tilley, the grandmother of the neighbor who intervened, described the intense situation.

She stated that her grandson shouted at the driver to stop as the SUV rapidly approached him. Eventually, her grandson dropped the gun, put his hands on his head, and exclaimed, “He’s gone!”

When Tilley asked if her grandson had killed the driver, she realized that his actions had potentially protected everyone on the street.

Las Vegas Metro Police have referred the case to the District Attorney’s Office to consider whether self-defense played a role in the incident.

Tilley shared that officers visited her home, offering counseling and prayers for her grandson.
