Starting in January, in Carlsbad, California, smoking and vaping of both cannabis and nicotine products will be banned in apartments, condos, and other shared buildings.

Unsurprisingly, this attack on personal freedom doesn’t apply to everyone equally. Single-family homes, hotels, and motels are conveniently exempt from the ban. It’s almost as if the wealthy elites who can afford their own houses don’t want these rules applied to them.

Here’s where it gets really tricky. The city admits they don’t have the resources for police or code enforcement to actually enforce this ridiculous law.

Instead, they’re relying on landlords and tenants to take legal action against each other.
