Orange County Sheriff's Office has recently made public the body-worn camera footage that reveals a deputy shooting a man in his 30s last month at a Chevron gas station.
The incident, which took place on July 16 at the gas station located at West Michigan Street and Interstate 4, just east of South Westmoreland Drive, unfolded as the man was reportedly behaving erratically and brandishing a metal rod.
According to reports from investigators, the man, whose identity has not been disclosed, initiated the sequence of events by assaulting an individual and subsequently attempting to break into a nearby truck. This effort resulted in the truck moving forward, causing a gas pump to collapse.
Law enforcement officials on the scene issued repeated commands for the man to drop the rod, but he ignored their demands and instead moved aggressively towards them.

The sequence of events leading to the shooting has raised questions and concerns within the community about the use of lethal force by law enforcement officers.
