On a recent episode of the Adam Carolla Show, host Adam Carolla expressed strong concerns about the progressive left’s efforts to divide society along racial lines. He compared these practices to historic segregation, suggesting that they are causing more harm than good.

Carolla opened his critique by highlighting California Governor Gavin Newsom’s separate alerts for missing children of different races. “The era we’re living in is the progressive left is essentially trying to start a race war in 2024, and I’m like, knock it off. Just stop breaking everyone into groups. I mean, Gavin Newsom has the Amber Alert for missing kids in this state. He also has a feather alert for missing Indigenous kids. He also has an ebony alert for missing black kids. He’s, this is, I’ve said it in my stand up, he’s not gonna rest until everyone gets their own drinking fountain.”

Drawing a parallel to segregation practices from the 1950s, Carolla continued, “Everyone is nauseated by the notion like, okay, you look back in American history and you go, can you believe there were two drinking fountains? There was one for black people and one for white people. In the 50s, two drinking fountains, and everyone goes, Oh my God, that’s horrible, horrible. They go, yeah, and there were two different doors to enter a diner. It’s a black entrance and a white entrance like, Oh my God, that’s horrible. That’s horrible, right? But Gavin Newsom has a different designation for missing black kids than he has white kids than he has Indigenous kids, and all the major universities have a black-only graduation and black-only dorms. What the fuck is the difference? What is the difference between the drinking fountain and the graduation? I would argue the drinking fountain is much less, much more innocuous than an actual dorm, where it’s like only for black kids, and it’s a graduation only for black kids, and it’s a town hall meeting for black people, and it’s all about agitating blacks, gays, and chicks. That’s it, with like a dusting of Mexican. Every speech Biden made was to anger black people. That’s all it was.”

Carolla warned that such identity politics could lead to dangerous outcomes, “Here we go in 2024. We had a black president for two terms, a two-term black president. That was a long time ago. Now we’re marching forward. White people for Kamala, black people, gays. It’s fucking weird. It’s dangerous. And by the way, you’re progressive, yeah, you sound like a fucking race hustler to me.”

During the show, Carolla also mocked what he perceives as the condescension of some progressive white women, “How about white women start using their privilege to make some fucking pot roast. How about that? Can we get back to the pot roast part of white women? Or you just want to use your privilege to talk to black by the way, they talk about black people, like zookeepers talk about paying okay, do never. Don’t agitate them. Do not look them in the eye. Don’t feed them if they but they but they want to take a shit on top of the mobile. Do not talk to them like it’s so it’s the most insane part of all the lefty progressive people is how insanely, how insanely racist they are because they talk about black people they can’t get IDs. Now listen, black entrepreneurs are just as good as white entrepreneurs. They don’t have attorneys that can’t get a hold of accountants or attorneys, but they’re every bit as smart as we are. Like they’re, it’s really condescending the way they talk about black people.”

Carolla’s remarks highlight his belief that the progressive left’s current strategies are divisive and counterproductive, echoing a sentiment that he believes could escalate into more severe racial tensions if left unchecked.
