An attempted armed robbery at a tobacco store in Norwalk took a fatal turn for one of the perpetrators when the store owner shot and killed him on Tuesday morning.
The incident occurred on Firestone Boulevard around 9 a.m., as confirmed by Lt. Johnsen of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
The store owner reported shooting one of the suspects in self-defense, leading to the suspect being found in an alleyway with a gunshot wound to the chest.
Despite being taken to the hospital, the suspect did not survive the encounter, and the incident was marked as a homicide by the LASD [1].

The two remaining perpetrators attempted to flee but were thwarted by their getaway car being boxed in, forcing them to flee on foot.
Law enforcement promptly initiated a containment area to locate and apprehend the fleeing suspects.
Aerial footage of the scene captured a dark coupe surrounded by shopping carts, showcasing the aftermath of the failed robbery attempt.
