Philadelphia police have shared a video with the public, capturing the moment when a suspect opened fire on two adults and a baby, resulting in severe injury to the infant boy.

The shooting occurred on Thursday, at around 6 p.m., in the Holmesburg neighborhood on the 400 block of Meridian Street.

The video shows the suspect approaching the boy’s mother and father before firing at point-blank range, causing serious harm to the innocent child.

Following the attack, a neighbor of the child transported him to Nazareth Hospital, and he was then conveyed to Jefferson Torresdale, where he received necessary treatment for a gunshot wound on his leg.

As per the Philadelphia Police Department, the parents of the child were not admitted to either hospital and were later found unharmed a few blocks away from the site of the shooting. The authorities noted that the parents do not reside on Meridian Street, and the local residents are unfamiliar with them.

Chief Inspector Scott Small stated, “It took us about an hour to locate the mother and the father, who we have now,” elucidating the challenges faced by the police department while investigating the case. Moreover, Small mentioned that the shooter was firing toward the parents, emphasizing the police’s perspective and current investigations.

On Thursday, the police were questioning the parents for any leads on the shooter’s identity and motive.

Based on eyewitness statements and evidence, the authorities have described the suspect as a heavily built black female with long dreadlocks. She was wearing a black sweatshirt and light blue jeans during the time of the assault.
