During an international basketball game on Saturday, an altercation unfolded between NBA players Evan Fournier of France and Dennis Schroder of Germany. The skirmish took place amidst France’s commanding 90-66 victory over Germany in a friendly match.
The incident occurred in the second quarter when Schroder made a strong drive to the basket and encountered a hard foul from Fournier. Subsequently, Schroder approached Fournier and placed his hands on his rival’s shoulder area. In response, Fournier retaliated by wrapping both hands around Schroder’s throat, prompting teammates and referees to intervene and separate the pair.

While the players seemed to reconcile on the court, Fournier was ejected from the game due to his actions. The former Knicks player is currently a free agent after spending a portion of his season in New York. In a mid-season trade, Fournier was sent to the Detroit Pistons along with Quentin Grimes, Malachi Flynn, Ryan Arcidiacono, and two second-round picks in exchange for Bojan Bogdanovic and Alec Burks.
