In a post on his Truth Social platform, former President Donald Trump took aim at FBI Director Christopher Wray for his uncertainty regarding the type of projectile that struck Trump during an outdoor rally in Butler, Penn. on July 13.
Wray testified during a congressional hearing that he was unsure if it was a bullet or shrapnel that hit Trump's ear, prompting a scathing response from the former President.
"FBI Director Christopher Wray told Congress yesterday that he wasn’t sure if I was hit by shrapnel, glass, or a bullet (the FBI never even checked!), but he was sure that Crooked Joe Biden was physically and cognitively 'uneventful' - Wrong!" Trump fired back on his social media site.
Here's What They're Not Telling You About Your Retirement
Trump, who appointed Wray as the FBI director in 2017, continued by lambasting Wray's focus, accusing him of negligence in combating terrorism and criminal influx and prioritizing targeting J6 Patriots, raiding Mar-a-Lago, and supporting left-wing extremists.
Refuting Wray's uncertainty, Trump reiterated, "No, it was, unfortunately, a bullet that hit my ear, and hit it hard. There was no glass, there was no shrapnel. The hospital called it a 'bullet wound to the ear,' and that is what it was. No wonder the once storied FBI has lost the confidence of America!"
If only someone in the front row had taken a picture of the teleprompters after the event that could debunk the entire "fragment of teleprompter" theory.
