The Department of Homeland Security’s inspector general has launched an investigation [1] into the Secret Service’s handling of security for former President Trump’s rally in Pennsylvania following an assassination attempt against the former president.

In a notice posted on the inspector general’s website [4], the probe aims to “Evaluate the United States Secret Service’s (Secret Service) process for securingformer President Trump’s July 13, 2024 campaign event.”
