The head of the Secret Service, Kimberly Cheatle, disclosed [1] the reason why the agency failed to station an agent on the rooftop from where Thomas Matthew Crooks attempted to assassinate Donald Trump.
The Secret Service officials responsible for organizing security for Trump’s rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, deemed the warehouse located 147 yards away from Trump’s location as too risky for deploying an agent.
Crooks managed to evade law enforcement and the Secret Service multiple times despite being flagged as ‘suspicious.’ Witnesses pleaded for action upon seeing him ascend to the roof with his rifle, yet the security lapse allowed him to execute his sinister plan.
Amid mounting calls for her resignation, Cheatle offered justification for the absence of security on the roof, claiming that the building’s sloped roof posed a safety risk, hence discouraging the deployment of personnel on it.
So she puts them on a roof with a greater slope than that one?

The security lapse allowed Thomas Matthew Crooks to establish his vantage point without detection despite urgent warnings from rally attendees.
Cheatle claimed that due to the rapid unfolding of events, there was insufficient time to act on the warnings, as Crooks was already in position when identified as a potential threat.
While acknowledging the security vulnerabilities, Cheatle remains defiant in the face of demands for her resignation, stating, “The buck stops with me [4],” and acknowledging that the incident was unacceptable and should not be repeated.
Meanwhile, Joe Biden misgendered Kimberly Cheatle by calling her him even though he was the one who appointed her to be the Secret Service Director. Watch:
LESTER HOLT: “Is it acceptable that you have still not heard—at least publicly—from the Secret Service director?”
BIDEN: “Oh, I’ve heard from him!”
Kimberly Cheatle is The Secret Service Director. A woman. Appointed by Biden.
