Florence, Kentucky, in the early hours of Saturday as a shooting incident resulted in the deaths of at least four individuals, including the suspect, according to reports from the Florence Police Department.

 

The shooting unfolded around 3 a.m. at a residence on Ridgecrest Drive, prompting a swift response from law enforcement following reports of an active shooter in the area.

Upon arrival at the scene, authorities discovered the lifeless bodies of four individuals and several others sustaining injuries from the violent encounter.

The suspect, allegedly responsible for the fatal shooting, attempted to flee the scene in a vehicle, initiating a frantic police pursuit. However, the chase came to a sudden halt as the suspect crashed his vehicle into a ditch on Dale Heimbrock Way, located near Hicks Pike.

 

Subsequently, law enforcement found the suspect with a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Despite efforts to save his life, he succumbed to his injuries after being transported to a nearby hospital.

 

The Florence Police Department has assured the public that there is no ongoing threat to safety.
