On July 2nd, an Oklahoma City police officer was injured during a standoff that occurred in northwest Oklahoma City.

The incident occurred when police officers responded to a call regarding a man holding a gun to someone's head in a home.

Upon arrival, the suspect, identified as Kavon Ragan, shot Sgt. Josh Scott before retreating back into the house.

The situation escalated into a standoff, and negotiators were brought in to attempt to resolve the situation peacefully.

However, Ragan refused to surrender and fired multiple rounds from the house.

After hours of failed negotiations, another sergeant was forced to open fire, resulting in Ragan's death.

Fortunately, no other individuals were harmed during the incident, and authorities were able to successfully evacuate the individuals from the home.
