Chaos erupted in Washington Square Park following New York City’s Pride Parade on Sunday as police struggled to contain the unruly mob of revelers. Disturbing footage captured multiple fights and brawls, turning the crowded park into a makeshift boxing ring, while spectators gleefully recorded the violent showdowns in Lower Manhattan.
Individuals were seen throwing punches and pulling hair, causing chaos and mayhem. One particularly intense altercation involved two young men exchanging blows, resulting in one of them falling to the ground. Meanwhile, two women briefly engaged in a physical altercation, as onlookers attempted to intervene.

Violence continued to escalate, with one woman, bloodied and wearing a stained white shirt, aggressively confronting another individual as the crowd cheered on. Other confrontations included a woman being pushed off the edge of the park’s iconic water fountain and another individual forcefully pulling a woman’s hair, dragging her to the ground. It took the intervention of others to finally put an end to the violence.

Attempting to regain control, police officers erected barricades around the park to stem the unruly crowd. As night fell, the NYPD used loudspeakers to announce the park’s closure and ordered people to leave, resulting in confrontations between law enforcement and park-goers.
Arrestee is tied at hands and the ankles, then lifted into the SRG van. Unsure if i should be in or out of the park, but one thing is certain, once you leave you canβt come back. My prediction is full invasion of the park by sunset, or 9pm. Whichever comes first. pic.twitter.com/MUPtrfGlqM [13]

At the time of reporting, it remains unclear if any arrests were made in connection with the violent altercations.
Prior to the chaotic scenes, New York City celebrated the 54th Pride Parade, a festive event where thousands gathered in Greenwich Village to honor LGBTQ rights. However, the festivities were interrupted when anti-Israel protesters temporarily obstructed the march near the historic Stonewall Inn, widely regarded as the birthplace of the gay rights movement.
