NFL legend Jerry Rice made headlines during the American Century Celebrity Golf Tournament practice round on Thursday, as he got into an altercation with two journalists from Kansas City-based Starcade Media.
The incident occurred when the journalists approached Rice during his golf round and asked whether he felt Patrick Mahomes’ wide receivers were “good enough to win another Super Bowl.”
Initially dismissing the inquiry and walking away, Rice then confronted the journalists, bluntly stating, “I will f–k you up,” as captured in a video obtained by TMZ Sports.

In response to the altercation, Rice disclosed to TMZ Sports that he perceived the reporters’ question as a slight against him due to the San Francisco 49ers’ loss to the Chiefs in the Super Bowl in February. He emphasized, “I’m going to defend the San Francisco 49ers. This is my history.”

On the other hand, the journalists from Starcade Media maintained that their question was not intended to disrespect Rice or the 49ers, clarifying on their Facebook page that they were merely inquiring if Kansas City’s 2024 wideout group “had improved enough to continue winning at a high level.”
