In a rant at The Essence Festival of Culture, Representative Maxine Waters voiced strong concerns about former President Donald Trump’s inflammatory language and threats of violence, particularly towards minority groups. Waters argues that Trump’s rhetoric has emboldened extremist groups, contributing to the January 6 Capitol incident. She emphasized the urgent need for accountability and action to address the allegedly growing threat of right-wing extremism.

“And I exercise. And I work late hours. I take care of black people. Trump has told you who he is. He defined himself. He is a no good, deplorable, lying, despicable human being. Who’s going to be targeted? Who is he talking about?” Waters stated.

They took the American flag with the pole, and they beat our Capitol guards with them.”
