Vice President Kamala Harris remains tight-lipped on whether she believes Joe Biden is up for the task of leading the nation, with mounting calls from lawmakers to trigger the 25th Amendment.

Biden’s abrupt withdrawal from the presidential race last Sunday, following concerns over his debate performance and mental acumen, has raised doubts about his ability to fulfill his current term.
Democrats wasted no time positioning Harris as the replacement on the 2024 ticket, but certain lawmakers, like Rep. Nancy Mace from South Carolina, are not willing to wait till next year for Biden’s departure.

Despite repeated attempts by Fox News to reach Harris for comment on Biden’s capabilities, she remained silent, leaving the question of his fitness for office unanswered.
Since his COVID-19 diagnosis and the subsequent suspension of his re-election campaign, Biden has remained out of the public eye. Questions about his whereabouts and communication with Harris have gone unanswered by his office.
Senator Eric Schmitt from Missouri sent a letter to Harris, declaring Biden unfit for office and demanding the 25th Amendment be invoked.
“Joe Biden has decided he isn’t capable of being a candidate; in so doing his admission also means he cannot serve as President…Therefore, it is in the best immediate interest of the safety of the United States for Joe Biden to resign from office or face removal under the 25th Amendment.” – Senator Eric Schmitt
Joining the chorus of concerns, Rep. Mace announced her intention to table a similar resolution, emphasizing that if Biden lacks the cognitive capacity to seek re-election, he lacks the capacity to complete his term.
Prior to Biden’s exit from the 2024 race, VP candidate Senator JD Vance from Ohio hinted at a possible congressional intervention via the amendment in case of the president’s withdrawal from seeking a second term.
