Joe Biden announced via X (Twitter) that he will address the nation at 8 p.m. Wednesday regarding his decision to abandon his campaign for a second term in light of concerns about his mental acuity, following scrutiny from fellow Democrats.
Tomorrow evening at 8 PM ET, I will address the nation from the Oval Office on what lies ahead, and how I will finish the job for the American people.

Did Harris just question that the phone in by Biden yesterday was either live or recorded? pic.twitter.com/8F6AawIw5c [2]

Despite the calls from Democrats to step down, Biden had initially sworn to stay the course, only to give in a few days before being virtually nominated by party delegates.
In response, Biden delivered a speakerphone call to his campaign office on Monday, reassuring his supporters that the switch to Kamala Harris as the Democratic nominee would not alter their priorities. “The name has changed at the top of the ticket, but the mission hasn’t changed at all,” Biden said. Furthermore, he pledged that he would continue to work for the American public as both a sitting president, pushing legislation, and as a campaigner alongside Harris.
“Joe, I know you’re still on the rec…the call.”
