Despite a tumultuous round marked by four birdies and six bogeys, Kim’s exceptional performance on the penultimate tee will be remembered as he struck his long-iron shot, landing it just shy of the green before witnessing it glide into the hole.
Following the hole-in-one, Kim’s standing in the championship improved to 5 over par.
Notably, Kim’s ace at The Open stands out as the longest recorded in the tournament’s history on the course since 1980.
