Former NFL star Jacoby Jones passed away in his sleep at his Houston residence on Sunday.

The athlete, who celebrated his 40th birthday just days prior, left behind a legacy that will be fondly remembered by fans and fellow players alike.

A standout player known for his time with the Baltimore Ravens, Jones made a lasting impact during his nine-season career in the NFL.

Originally drafted in the third round from Lane College in 2007, he showcased his exceptional skills not only as a quality receiver but also as a dynamic return specialist, setting franchise records in punt return yards, touchdowns, and all-purpose yards.

While with the Texans, Jones displayed his versatility on the field, amassing 203 catches for 2,733 yards and 14 touchdown receptions.

His contributions extended beyond Houston as he also played for the Ravens, Steelers, and Chargers before retiring from the league in 2017.

Hailing from New Orleans, Louisiana, Jones soared to new heights with the Ravens, playing a pivotal role in their Super Bowl XLVII victory against the San Francisco 49ers in 2013. His historic 109-yard kickoff return for a touchdown remains unmatched as the longest play in Super Bowl history.
