Former President Donald Trump’s injuries during an assassination attempt last weekend took center stage as Dr. Anthony Fauci downplayed the nature of the incident.

He appeared on CNN to discuss the ear wound sustained by Trump when a gunman’s bullet nearly ended his life.

According to Fauci, the 78-year-old Trump’s injury was merely “superficial,” citing reports from physicians who examined him.

In Fauci’s view, there was no need for further concern as Trump promptly resumed his public appearances, including delivering a record-breaking speech at the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee just two days after the assassination attempt. “It seems to have been a superficial wound to the ear, and that’s all,” Fauci remarked.

However, contradicting Fauci’s assessment, CNN’s chief medical correspondent Dr. Sanjay Gupta expressed concerns about potential lingering effects, suggesting that Trump may be dealing with “psychological trauma” following the shooting.

Gupta urged for a “full public assessment” of Trump’s injuries to inform voters about his condition.

He emphasized the need for a comprehensive evaluation to determine any underlying physical and mental injuries, advocating for transparency regarding the former president’s medical treatment and plans for monitoring his health.

Despite Gupta’s cautionary remarks, the Trump campaign has not disclosed details about the extent of medical treatment Trump has received or the measures in place to ensure his ongoing well-being.
