The Justice Department confesses to having transcripts of interviews between Joe Biden and biographer Mark Zwonitzer, despite initially insisting the documents did not exist.

The transcripts are related to Robert Hur’s investigation into Biden’s handling of classified information after stepping down as vice president.

According to DOJ attorneys, processing audio files into transcripts related to the president’s conversations with Zwonitzer would be a tedious process, and the department does not have an accurate transcription.

However, Monday evening’s court filing admitted to having six electronic files consisting of 117 pages of transcribed information.

The specific FOIA request was filed by the Heritage Foundation, and DOJ officials even contacted an anonymous source with knowledge of the transcripts, despite resisting reaching out to Hur directly for information.

Hur eventually confirmed the transcripts of the conversations between Biden and Zwonitzer, which were relied upon for his final report.

Though the report concluded that Biden would not receive criminal charges for possessing classified materials after his vice presidency, it did label him a “sympathetic, well-meaning, elderly man with a poor memory.”

This controversial report sparked outrage regarding Biden’s perceived cognitive impairment.

The White House asserted executive privilege over audio and video recordings related to Hur’s investigation, including the interviews between Biden and Zwonitzer.

However, Cameron Silverberg, the DOJ Lawyer, says he will consult relevant parties regarding the potential release of transcripts.

This revelation came on the heels of mounting pressure on Biden to drop out of the presidential race, following his debate performance, which raised concerns over his mental fitness and age.

As a result, Vice President Kamala Harris emerged as the presumptive nominee for the 2024 elections.
