Cleveland, Ohio - In the early hours of Thursday morning a 27-year-old Cleveland police officer lost his life in a shooting incident that took place in the Hough neighborhood, according to the Cleveland police department.

The fatal incident occurred near the intersection of East 79th Street and Wade Park Avenue, as confirmed by WKYC Channel 3.
During a press conference, authorities announced that a 24-year-old suspect has been apprehended and is being transferred to the Cuyahoga County jail. The suspect did not sustain any injuries.

Police officials revealed that around eight to ten officers were present at the scene as part of their duty to serve a felonious assault warrant.
At this time, the officer's name and further details about his professional background have not been disclosed, pending ongoing investigations.
