Joe Biden and his campaign are facing criticism for reportedly receiving pre-approved questions before his radio appearances. During an interview on the “The Source” show on WURD, host Andrea Lawful-Sanders disclosed that the White House had provided her with a list of eight questions in advance for the interview with Biden. This pre-screened setup, meant to reassure concerned supporters, particularly in the Black community, following his underwhelming debate performance, shed light on the lengths to which the administration may go to control the narrative.
As part of the Biden rehab tour, designed to prove to voters that the debate disaster was a one-off, the White House sent questions to a friendly radio interviewer in Philly who agreed to stick to the script.

Biden’s radio appearances did not go without stumbles, with the president making curious statements such as claiming to be “the first Black woman to serve with a Black president” and asserting that he was the “first president that got elected statewide in the state of Delaware.” These comments, coupled with apparent difficulty in response to questions, further fueled speculation about his cognitive abilities.

The revelation of pre-approved questions has drawn criticism from CNN’s Victor Blackwell, who questioned the efficacy of such a practice in showcasing the president’s acuity. While the White House defended the move as providing suggested talking points, critics argue that the scripted nature of the interviews does little to dispel concerns about Biden’s unscripted capabilities.

Despite the efforts to assuage doubts about his fitness for office, Biden’s radio appearances seem to have only heightened scrutiny over his cognitive sharpness. As the administration faces escalating questions about the president’s ability to effectively lead the country, the incident underscores the challenges in projecting an unscripted and authentic image.
