Ex-Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle has resigned following an embarrassing hearing on Monday [1] regarding the agency’s failure to prevent an assassination attempt against former President Donald Trump.
Lawmakers on both sides of the aisle were livid that Cheatle was unable to provide answers to vital questions, instead frequently deferring to the FBI, who are investigating the incident.
Joe Biden praised her decades of public service but did accept her resignation.
Biden expressed gratitude for her dedication to her profession and her efforts in leading the Secret Service during his administration.

He emphasized Cheatle’s courage and integrity in taking responsibility for the organization’s failure.
Joe Biden said an investigation into the attempted assassination and the results from this independent inquiry are forthcoming.
Biden made no public appearances for several days [3] while recovering from COVID-19 in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware.
His return to the White House is expected Tuesday afternoon.
The upcoming report will allegedly determine who is liable for the agency’s failure.
