Biden Campaign Crisis, Desperate Denials | Out Of Touch With Reality [VIDEOS]

In an interview intended to calm the storm within Democratic ranks, Joe Biden seemed to be avoiding the hard truth that his reelection bid is in trouble.

During a recent sit-down with ABC News’ George Stephanopoulos that aired last night, he attempted to convince viewers that he’s mentally and physically up to the task of leading the country. Dismissing his lackluster debate performance as just a “bad night,” Biden insisted that he’s not behind in the polls and that his approval rating isn’t as abysmal as it’s made out to be.

When pressed by Stephanopoulos on whether he believes he’s trailing, Biden responded, “All the pollsters I talk to tell me it’s a toss-up, it’s a toss-up. And when I’m behind, there’s only one poll that I’m really far behind.”

However, Biden’s attempt to spin the facts didn’t hold up. The New York Times/Siena College poll had him trailing Trump by around six points among registered voters, not the ten points as he claimed. His lead extended by three points after the debate, a fact that seemed to escape him.

Regarding his approval rating, Biden said, “I don’t believe that’s my approval rating – that’s not what our polls show.” Yet, data from FiveThirtyEight painted a different picture, showing his approval rating at a dismal 36.9%.

When confronted with concerns about his fitness for office, Biden sidestepped, refusing to entertain questions about stepping aside. Despite reports of Democratic allies and even close advisors expressing doubts about his ability to continue, Biden remained resolute in his denial, asserting, “I’m still in good shape.”

In response to calls for him to take a cognitive test, something former President Donald Trump and the GOP have advocated for, Biden flippantly declared, “I take a cognitive test every day.”

As the Democratic Party grapples with internal strife and rumblings about his competence, Biden’s defiant denial of his campaign’s challenges leaves many wondering if he’s truly in touch with the reality on the ground.
