Vivek Ramaswamy recently sounded the alarm about America’s dwindling national identity, citing the rise of the deep state, mass illegal migration, and the emergence of government-endorsed secular religions like wokeism and climatism as critical issues.
“I think we have lost our sense of national identity as a country. We have lost our sense of what it means to be an American,” Ramaswamy declared. “We have a decline of national pride that if it continues, we’ll really spell the end of the existence of the United States of America as we know it. That’s truly what I believe. I don’t think I’m exaggerating that. I don’t think that’s hyperbole.”

Ramaswamy pointed to several key indicators of this identity crisis. “One is we’ve abandoned those core values that the United States of America was founded on. Take the core constitutional value that the people we elect to run the government should be the ones who actually run the government. That’s not happening today. The people who run the show today are the actors in the deep state, the federal bureaucracy.”
He highlighted the federal bureaucracy, or the deep state, as a primary concern. “Top concern number one is the rise of the deep state,” Ramaswamy emphasized.
Ramaswamy also addressed the issue of illegal immigration. “Top concern number two is the way they’ve abandoned the rule of law through mass illegal migration into the United States of America.”
Additionally, Ramaswamy criticized the government for establishing what he terms new secular religions. “Top concern number three is the rise of these new secular religions, what I call more like cults. A religion has withstood the test of time. A cult has not, from woke to climatism, that have really become the new established religions in the United States of America. The First Amendment says the government cannot establish a religion. Well, the reality is the government has established these new religions as the secular religions of the United States. It’s just that it’s a religion without God that refuses to admit that it’s a religion, frankly, and I think that’s a new kind of threat to the US as well.”
In conclusion, Ramaswamy reiterated that the erosion of national identity is the core issue facing America today. “The loss of national identity is the real concern, but it shows up in the rise of the deep state. It shows up in the abandonment of the rule of law, especially in this crisis of mass illegal migration into our country. And it shows up in the government establishment of these new secular religions, from wokeism to covidism to climatism. These are symptoms of that deeper void.”
