Surprise Cops Rescue Shot Baby Before House Goes Up In Flames [VIDEOS]

The Surprise Police Department has released body-camera footage and 911 calls from the day a hostage situation unfolded, leaving a baby shot multiple times and the suspect, 51-year-old Todd Christopher Marchetti, dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

In a 911 call, a distraught woman reported, “My baby daddy broke in last night; he shot and killed my dog. I just ran out of the house to get help. He’s going to kill my baby.” The woman detailed the terrifying events, narrating how the suspect broke in through a window armed with knives and guns, threatening her life and her child’s.

Frantic and fear-stricken, the woman managed to seek assistance from construction workers after escaping from the clutches of her attacker. The edited body-camera footage captures the tense moments as officers prepared to enter the home during the standoff, as gunfire echoed in the background.

Officers successfully rescued baby Jaxson, who had sustained multiple gunshot wounds. An officer can be heard urgently saying, “We got the baby out. Go. Go. Go.” Following the baby’s rescue, officers remained vigilant until a fire erupted hours later, leading to the discovery of Marchetti’s lifeless body from an apparent suicide.

While the cause of the subsequent fire remains a mystery, both internal and criminal investigations are ongoing. Baby Jaxson is currently recuperating in the hospital under the care of his family, as they navigate the aftermath of this traumatic ordeal.
