Serial Slingshot Shooter Dies Day After Jail Release

An 81-year-old man, Prince Raymond King, who was arrested near Los Angeles for tormenting his neighbors as a “serial slingshot shooter,” died just one day after his release from jail.

Azusa police reported that King was released from custody on May 28 and passed away at his home on May 29 due to natural causes. The Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner determined his death was caused by heart disease.

Neighbors had called the police, citing concerns about their “quality of life.” They complained that King was breaking windows, damaging windshields, and narrowly missing people with ball bearings.

Nearly a dozen residents claimed that King had been terrorizing the neighborhood for a decade.

During a search of King’s home, police recovered ball bearings and a slingshot. He was charged with five counts of felony vandalism and two counts of misdemeanor vandalism for allegedly targeting his neighbors’ property.

King’s next court date had been set for June 17 for a preliminary hearing.
