The incident, which took place near Cahita and Rosecrans avenues, saw deputies mobilizing to the scene following the initial reports.
After approximately an hour, the scenario seemed to plateau as Sky5 surveilled the area from above, capturing footage of the suspect lying motionless on the roof of the building, with a shotgun lying nearby.

Preliminary accounts indicate that the suspect, alleged to have fired numerous rounds at the helicopter, was ultimately met with lethal force from deputies, though the LASD has refrained from confirming these details. Following the deployment of a flashbang by deputies onto the rooftop, the suspect remained motionless as the smoke cleared.

It wasn't until 9 pm that deputies ascended a ladder to confront the unmoving suspect with their weapons drawn. The suspect, who had been declared deceased, was then covered with a sheet as detectives commenced evidence collection for the investigation.
