A natural gas explosion occurred in the western province of Izmir, Turkey, resulting in four fatalities and at least 20 injuries. The explosion took place at 2:43 pm local time in the Torbali district within a building’s ground-floor business.
As reported by state-run TRT broadcaster, ten of the injured individuals are in critical condition. Emergency teams are currently conducting investigations at the scene, and firefighting teams quickly extinguished a subsequent fire.

Izmir Governor Suleyman Elban provided an update, stating that 11 nearby buildings suffered significant damage. As a precautionary measure, gas supplies have been cut off, and authorities are in the process of evacuating the affected area. Elban further assured the public that security forces have taken necessary actions to ensure safety.
