ARVADA, Denver — A devastating plane crash occurred in the front yard of an Arvada residence, resulting in injuries to two adults and two juveniles who were swiftly transported to a nearby hospital. According to the Arvada Police Department’s official Twitter account, the incident took place near the intersection of Oberon Road and Carr Street on Friday morning at approximately 10 a.m.

Photographs captured by both law enforcement and FOX31 [4] reporters on-site depict emergency crews contending with flames and smoke billowing from the shattered aircraft. Fortunately, the fire appeared to be extinguished shortly after 10 a.m., as confirmed by FOX31 correspondent Samantha Spitz.
Eyewitnesses revealed that local residents rallied together to rescue survivors from the wreckage. One such witness, Evan Sherlock, recounted his account in a live interview with FOX31. Sherlock, who was en route to buy mulch for his front yard, described how he noticed a low-flying plane exhibiting erratic movements and a pronounced wing dip.

Initially, Sherlock proceeded on his journey, but upon checking his rearview mirror, he discovered the plane had vanished. He promptly made a U-turn and was dismayed to find the downed aircraft in the front yard of a nearby home.
“I couldn’t believe that’s what I just saw. I was hoping that it was doing something else,” Sherlock recounted, visibly shaken. “I could see smoke coming out of it, and at first it looked like a crop duster to me. And then I was like, ‘There’s no way, why would you be crop dusting in Arvada?’ But obviously something was mechanically wrong with the airplane, and it was just entirely too low for it to be doing anything safe.”
Debris from the crash was scattered across the front yard of the affected residence, serving as a haunting reminder of the tragic incident.
Authorities are currently investigating the cause of the crash, as questions regarding the mechanical failure of the aircraft remain unanswered.
