On Monday, a shocking incident unfolded outside the Fly E-Bike shop on 42nd Street near Broadway in Astoria, Queens. According to authorities, a 35-year-old man launched a violent attack on a 28-year-old employee, brandishing a helmet as a weapon.
Video footage obtained by The New York Post captured the disturbing moment when the perpetrator savagely struck the worker with the helmet after an apparent confrontation. In a swift turn of events, another man emerged from the store and chased after the assailant, leading to a chaotic confrontation in the street.

During the scuffle, the initial attacker was stabbed in the stomach, reportedly by someone inside the bike shop. The assailant, despite being wounded, continued to inflict damage, using the helmet to strike the shop’s window.
Law enforcement responded to the scene, but encountered further resistance as the assailant resisted arrest, even biting one of the officers during the struggle. The harrowing video depicts the officers grappling with the combative suspect before finally subduing him.
The wounded assailant was transported to Elmhurst Hospital Center, where he was reported to be in stable condition. Charges against him are pending, while an injured officer also sought medical attention for his hand injury.
In a surprising turn of events, the individual who intervened by stabbing the initial aggressor did not face any charges by Monday evening. Police noted that it remains unclear whether this individual is affiliated with the bike shop as an employee or simply a customer who happened to intervene.
