The NBA Finals tipoff Thursday night at 8:30pm est as the Boston Celtics play host to the Dallas Mavericks in game one of the best of seven series.
And while the Boston Celtics have been statistically the best team throughout the season (and the playoffs), the Dallas Mavericks are hot led by the play of Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving. The Mavericks are 36-14 since February and will present a significant challenge to the Celtics, who are favored to win the series.
With game one fast approaching NBA fans and legends alike are excited for the finals to get underway. Magic Johnson shared his view on how exciting the series would be given the high-scoring offenses each team brings to the table.

In terms of who will shine, both teams have their stars. As mentioned, Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving from the Mavericks are streaking and have to be contained if the Celtics want to win the series.
On the Celtics side of things shooting guard Jalen Brown and Jayson Tatum are studs and will be critical the Celtics push for another championship. While discussing the series, ESPN’s Timothy Legler argued that Jayson Tatum has more to lose than Luka Doncic, Kyrie Irving and Jalen Brown combined.
