White House aides have allegedly confirmed Joe Biden’s struggles with a common symptom associated with dementia, raising questions about his fitness for office, as reported by Axios [1].

 

 

During the CNN debate with former President Donald Trump, Biden’s performance fell under scrutiny as he seemed confused, struggled through answers, and appeared to freeze up. Despite calls for the 81-year-old president to consider stepping down from his responsibilities, the Biden camp has attempted to downplay concerns, attributing his challenging performance to a rough night.

 

 

Sources informed Axios that the President is generally found to be “engaged” between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. However, outside of these hours, he is vulnerable to making “verbal miscues” and experiencing fatigue.

 

 

Throughout his presidency, Biden’s aides have occasionally observed instances of a seemingly mentally absent Biden, but these occurrences have largely been overlooked due to his usual engagement. The timing of the day seems to dictate the level of coherence and alertness Biden exhibits while performing his presidential duties, Axios indicated.

 

As doubts about Biden’s cognitive abilities escalate, his ability to recall information, maintain coherence, and interact effectively with world leaders has been called into question.

 


The behavior described by Biden’s aides can be likened to a symptom of dementia known as “sundowning,” a state characterized by confusion that commonly affects elderly individuals, particularly those with Alzheimer’s or other forms of dementia. In more severe cases, “sundowning” can manifest as anxiety, aggression, wandering, hallucinations, and difficulty sleeping.

 

Despite assurances from the White House doctor in February that Biden was fit for office, critics continue to raise concerns about the President’s advanced age and mental acuity. White House physician Kevin O’Connor conducted a physical examination and declared Biden to be an “active” 81-year-old capable of fulfilling his presidential responsibilities.

 

In response to the report suggesting variable behavior patterns in Biden throughout the day, White House Deputy Press Secretary Andrew Bates emphasized Joe Biden’s dedication to fighting for families and delivering results, attributing his performance differences to determination, experience, and decency.

 

Following the lackluster debate showing, White House aides pointed fingers at Joe Biden’s purported lack of preparation. Axios reported that Biden spent a significant time at Camp David rehearsing debate scenarios on a mock stage in an attempt to enhance his performance.

 

“It’s sad but it also makes me so mad to think of all the smart people lying and trying to make this work,” lamented a former White House official in a statement to Axios, reflecting a sentiment of frustration over the handling of Biden’s debate preparation.
